I've been meaning to build a 3D printer, but this seems so much more flexible in terms of materials it can work with. Besides, I can always build the CNC table, then swap out? the router for a plastic extruder. I think I'll spend the extra time/money and build this instead.

The design is my own and plans are available for free at Thingiverse. Search for "DIY CNC Router". When doing some medium to heavy cuts (such? as cutouts) the frame flexes about 0.2-0.3mm. The router bed also has about 0.5mm in height variations. The cost to buy all parts for this machine would be about 1000-1500 euros depending on from where you buy them.

I had the same problem with a common router, then I changed it for KRESS which is blowing air sideway instead down and since that time no dust all around the garage... Anyway before I made cover with front doors aroud all CNC, that did helped a lot too...
